One of my clients is looking for a Planning Enforcement Officer to join their team. The Council is in East Anglia and they are offering an initial 3 month contract, with potential to extend. They are looking for an immediate starter.

Duties will include:
- Undertake investigations of alleged breaches of planning control
- Gathering evidence of breaches of planning control
- Judgement of whether planning permission is required
- Preparation and presentation of reports for planning committees or court
- Site visits and assessment of site history
- Meeting with business owners and customers on site
- Correspond with members of the public and stakeholders
Required Experience:
- At least 5 years previous experience in working for a Local Planning Authority
- Must be competent in dealing with potential breaches of planning
- Must be able to assess whether planning permission is required in order to identify best course of planning enforcement action
- Must be able to hit the ground running
- Must be able to work to strict commercial deadlines
- Must represent the views of and adhere to the corporate polices of the Council
