I am looking for an experienced Finance Manager who has worked within Children's Services to support a council in the North West on an interim basis to cover long-term sickness.
The role is looking at an initial 4-6 months and will involve managing the Children's Services Finance team.
Key responsibilities:
- To lead and manage a wide range of strategic financial management services for the Council, corporately or in respect of a portfolio of services and functions as assigned, making a key contribution to the development and sustainability of the Medium-Term Financial Strategy
- To lead major financial work programmes – including end-to-end financial cycles (internal budget planning and preparation; in-year monitoring, forecasting and reporting; through to statutory/ external reporting) for the assigned portfolio of functions/ services
- Lead the delivery of a wide range of financial management, advisory and support services to front-line and corporate budget managers and financial decision makers.
Ideally, a candidate will be willing and able to work 2 days a week in the office.
Children's Services experience within Local Authorities is essential.
